Leslie Tyler's "Clearly in Love" Lip Gloss - REVIEW

Several weeks ago I received a sample of Leslie Tyler's "Clearly in Love" lip gloss and to put it simply, I'm "Clearly in Love" with this lip gloss!  You will feel like a Hollywood super star with this awesome gloss.  Imagine my surprise when I opened the container and I received a fresh blast of minty goodness.  Then I looked at the container and saw that the sample I received was called "Mint Kiss".  I love minty things so this is a huge hit with me.  I think I might have actually formed a small addiction to this specific lip gloss.  I love the scent, the tingly sensation on my lips and the very subtle minty flavor.

Apparently I created a monster when I let my 3yr old daughter try out the new gloss, too.  She LOVES makeup and the Leslie Tyler "Clearly in Love" lip gloss is a big hit with her.  I have to keep the gloss hidden from her or she'll take it and use it all in one sitting :P  Here she is the day we got it:
The Messy Princess
with
Leslie Tyler's "Clearly in Love"
Lip Gloss
Isn't she just darling?  Pay special attention to her lips - they look so natural but the gloss helped them perk up with just the right amount of sheer.  Now look past the filthy hands and dirt on her face - like I've said in previous posts, she's my messy princess!

So guess what - I was at It's a Glam Thing and I saw that YOU can WIN some of this gloss for yourself!

I received a sample to facilitate this review.  No other compensation was received.  All opinions within the review are 100% honest and my own.

Awesome TOY CLEARANCE at WalMart!

I stopped at WalMart with my daughter this morning, while my son was at school, for some essentials.  You know, laundry detergent, socks etc.  I always walk out with more than I intended and normally I have no means for justification.  I'm terrible for impulse shopping.  But THIS time...THIS time I'm excited about my bargain!

I took a stroll down the toy clearance isle.  We have a birthday party to attend in a few weeks and I was hoping to find something for a birthday gift.  Well, I didn't find a birthday gift but I did find a rocking Christmas present for my son!  He's been wanting a laptop for a long time.  Yes, he's 5yrs old and has been begging for his own laptop.  Well I stumbled on the VTech Cyber Spy Notebook.

This baby retails for $80.00.  WAY out of my budget, if I want to get him more than one gift for Christmas!  I picked it up for $25.00 today.  Can you believe that???  TWENTY-FIVE DOLLARS!  You have no idea how excited I am!!!  Ya know how a lot of kids "laptops" have over-sized keyboards and look like a toy?  This one looks and feels like a real laptop with a real laptop keyboard.  The LCD is small but is still larger than others I have seen.  For my 5yr old, I think this is PERFECT.

  • Apperang - Get Paid To Download Games & Apps

Apperang is a great new service that lets you earn money for installing the apps and games you normally have to pay for or get for free. If you've got an iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad, you should check this out. Here's some of the apps I see in my list: DailyBurn, Brain Trainer, iGarageSale Lite, Kingdoms at War, MyTown, Pocket Ants, Slacker Radio, WeReward, Movies, and more!

    Here's how it works:
    1. Signup for Apperang
    2. Check your inbox (and spam folder) for the confirmation email
    3. Login and browse all the apps (may ask to allow java to run)
    4. Click "Install Now" on any apps you want.
    5. You'll be taken to the iTunes site and iTunes will launch
    6. Install the app in iTunes and Sync your device
Most of the apps are free and the average payout is $0.25 for installing. If an app isn't free, you'll get paid the cost of the app + around $0.25. For example, if an app is $1.99, you'll get paid $2.24. So even apps that cost money end up being free + you make some money!

    A Photography Class For Me

I have been wanting to take photography classes for a long time.  Unfortunately, photography is an expensive hobby and the photography courses are no exception.  Until now.  I was cruising through a blog hop when I came across a button for a Simply Photography online course.  I checked it out and could not believe my eyes when I saw how unbelievably affordable the course is!  I'm so excited.  I'm signed up for the October session and cannot wait to dive in and get started!  Check it out - maybe I'll "see you" in class :P  Oh, and for this particular class, it doesn't matter what kind of camera you have.  You will be covering light, focus, crop and perspective.
My goal is not to become a professional photographer but to become the best mamarazzi  I can be!  Speaking of mamarazzi, I've gotta post the kid's 1st day of school photos.

    And how was YOUR day?

I got this in e-mail and I laughed so hard that I just had to share it here:

I was in the restaurant yesterday when I suddenly realized I desperately needed to pass gas. The music was really, really loud, so I timed my gas with the beat of the music.

After a couple of songs, I started to feel better. I finished my coffee, and noticed that everybody was staring at me....

Then I suddenly remembered that I was listening to my iPod.

    ...and how was your day?

    Lindo twist-N-roll tweezers ~ Review

Raise your hand if you have unwanted facial hair.  Okay, don't raise your hand or your kids will want to know what game you're playing :P  But lets face it, many, if not most, of us have unwanted facial hair.  I have a condition called Polycystic Ovarian Syndrom (PCOS) and one of the fabulous side effects of this condition is excess facial hair.  Not everyone who has PCOS has the excess facial hair but I am one of the lucky ones who does.  It's all fun and games until you grow a man hair on your chin.  It started out with thick "peach fuzz"  and as I've grown older, the "peach fuzz" has added a few "man hairs".

I started out using tweezers.  Regular old tweezers.  That became too time consuming.  Nooo, I don't have *that* much excess facial hair, I'm just a perfectionist when it comes to tweezing and go for even the teeniest of hairs.  The next solution was to get one of those pen style hair trimmers.  That was efficient in removing the hair so it looked good, was fast and easy.  The problem was that it kind of leaves stubble behind.  What woman wants *stubble* on her face?  Not me, that's for certain!  So I tried my hand at waxing.  Wow that not only hurts but left my skin red, inflamed and I ended up with an itchy rash.  I tried a few different times before saying no more.

I had read a lot about hair threading on message boards and Facebook.  A lot of my friends were talking about it and that they have it done.  Spending money to have threading done on a regular basis is not an option for me.  Then I was given the opportunity to try Lindo twist-N-roll tweezers.

    From Facial Work:
Lindo twist-n-roll tweezers is a hair removal tool that uses a similar process as the technique called hair threading.

Hair threading is an ancient method of hair removal in Asia in which the unwanted hair is removed from the roots with the use of a thread. Some people apply white powder before they thread the hair on their faces to make it easier. Hair threading may be difficult to learn and should be done by experienced people since there is potential to damage the skin if done improperly.

The Lindo twist-n-roll tweezers is a simple solution for hair removal. You can learn how to use it in just a few minutes. Now you can do the threading at home easily!

You can imagine I was excited to give these a try!  I was pleasantly surprised at how easy the twist-N-roll tweezers are to use.  A few of the coarser "man hairs" were a bit more stubborn but once I got more practice using the tweezers and read a tip on the FAQ, the "man hairs" became easier.  I was especially pleased with the fact that my skin was left soft, minimal redness - if any at all, no rashes, no stubble and almost no discomfort.

    Visit
Facial Work to view a video demo.

twist-N-roll tweezers can be used on chins, cheeks, upper eye brows and lips.  While the twist-N-roll is designed for facial use, it can be used on other parts of the body.

I received a sample product to facilitate this review.  All opinions shared are honest and my own.  No other form of compensation was received.

DIY Costume Wings Instructions from Martha Stewart

A few days ago I posted an awesome Tiramisu cookie recipe that I got in a daily e-mail newsletter from Martha Stewart.  Well I love Martha Stewart and I am also signed up for several of the other newsletters she has available on her site: Martha Stewart  So yesterday I got this e-mail about making basic costume wings.  It seems easy enough and the wings would make a great addition to many DIY Halloween costumes!

A basic pair of wings can serve as the basis for many different costumes.

    Tools and MaterialsKraft paper
    18-gauge steel wire
    Black tape
    Bat wings template
    Fairy wings template
    Dragonfly wings template
    Duct tape
Black spiderweb tights, for bat costume
    Colored Halloween "hair spray"
    Plastic gems
    Glue gun
    Clear elastic (1 foot)

    Winged Costume How-To
    1. Download and enlarge bat wings templatefairy wings template, or dragonfly wings template; trace onto kraft paper.

    2. Wrap 18-gauge steel wire with black tape.

    3. Bend wire into 3-D shape. First form top shape, then the bottom with another length of wire.

    4. Join top and bottom shapes with a piece of duct tape.

    5. Cut a leg off panty hose. Slide over bottom of one wing. Pull taut and tie a knot in the back of wire structure.

    6. Repeat for bottom of other wing, then tops of wings.

    7. Using colored Halloween "hair spray," spray both wings black.

    8. Glue on plastic gems to back and front of wings.

    9. To make the harness, one by one, sew the ends of a foot of clear elastic to the front of the knot in middle of wings.

    Fairy Costume Variation
Follow the same process as butterfly costume, except step 6. Tie off both top and bottom of wings. Then, use follow rest of process, using white Halloween hair spray for step 7.

    Butterfly Costume Variation
For another Halloween look, try our butterfly costume.
