Dog Days of Summer ~ Guest post From Brandee

My Dog Is A Nut
Pilot
Some people have dogs that can play fetch and others have dogs that can play dead but not me. I have a dog that will run barking to the front door every time he hears a doorbell or door knock on T.V. He will bark like a crazy thing after you walk back in the room after you have only been absent for 5 minutes.

Yes, my dog is as dumb as a stump but so darn cute and attentive that you could not help but love him. No person could ever want for a dog with a better disposition. He will never nip nor lay his teeth upon a person. Never will he growl in anger, but he is guilty of having urinated on a friend’s chest with excitement. He is a lover, not a fighter.

My dog would be happy to just follow me around all day long, winding himself in between my legs while I try desperately to not fall flat on my face tripping over him. He would happily spend his day sitting beside me on the couch sleeping the day away. He just wants to be near somebody and to not be alone.

Sometimes my dog is a furry little mass of tangles and at others he is as sheared as a sheep. I myself prefer him when shaved but my husband loves the ball of fur he becomes. Although he may not be really happy about the bathing and shaving process, he takes it like a little trooper. Well, lets be honest here, it’s not like he has much choice in the matter.

My dog is getting on in years and will be turning 11 in September. He has cysts appearing all over his body and he is developing a clouding in his sad brown eyes. To me he is still a pain in the butt, but he is my pain in the butt. I remember getting him when he was only a few months old. He was nothing but a pouf of fur that kept trying to use my carpet as his personal lavatory.

My dog is a Bichon/Shih Tzu cross named Pilot and he is a member of my family. He may be a little insane and can develop gas rank to knock out a horse but he loves us and we love him.
